    Past Exhibition

    Mission Aerospace

    February 17 through May 13, 2018

Venture into the Maze and take off with Mission Aerospace. Explore flight, navigation, and NASA in this extensive exhibition integrating the

science and history behind airplanes, helicopters, rockets, and other aircraft. Visitors will make paper airplanes and paper rockets, learning about aerodynamics, and test them for distance and air-dexterity in special “launch zones,” flying them to Beijing, to Paris, or to Saturn or Mars.

Learn how gyroscopes are used in navigation and plot a course! Discover the connections between satellites and GPS. Find out about the power of air pressure in the wind tunnel. Find aircraft from many eras, from the Grumman F4F Wildcat to the Bell-Boeing CV-22 Osprey, and answer the challenge questions. Explore NASA’s vision for the future, from robotic exploration on Mars to trips aboard the International Space Station.
