Free off-street parking is available for 3 hours on South Street in the lot next to the Colonial Theatre.
Handicap spaces are available in the lot adjacent to the Berkshire Museum and on the street near the Colonial Theatre. There is a loading zone in front of the Museum where no parking is permitted, but passengers may be picked up and dropped off at this spot.
The city of Pittsfield has upgraded to a new, metered parking system. You can find more information here:
Metered street parking is available on South Street, North Street, and East Street (on either side of Park Square). Most parking areas in the downtown area include a mix of permitted and public parking as indicated by signs throughout the lot. Most public parking spaces are unrestricted on weekends and holidays, and many permitted spaces are available for public use.
Always read the posted signs and obey all parking rules.
Buses may pull up to the sidewalk in front of the Berkshire Museum entrance to allow passengers to board and exit the bus.
Buses may park in the Big Y Supermarket parking lot at the intersection of West and Center Streets until they return to the Museum to pick up passengers. Please park in the corner of the lot farthest from the supermarket.
Directions to Big Y from Berkshire Museum: continue north on South Street for less than one block to the traffic light at the intersection. Turn left onto West St., down the hill, and continue straight through one stop light. The Big Y Supermarket is on the right immediately after the light.
Berkshire Museum is proud to be a UP Organization, committed to the ongoing process of making our programs and facilities available to all.
