Project Description

Berkshire Museum presents the 29th annual Festival of Trees 2013: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow featuring more than 100 dazzling holiday trees sponsored by local businesses, schools, and community organizations and decorated to express the nostalgia of years past, the excitement of today’s hustle-bustle lifestyle, and the endless possibilities of the future. The Festival of Trees 2013: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow opens to the public on Saturday, November 23, 2013 and will be on view through Thursday, January 2, 2014. The exhibit appears throughout the second floor galleries and is free with admission.

This year’s theme is inspired by the celebration of the Museum’s 110th anniversary year, with trees reflecting our beginnings in 1903, our current creative energy in 2013, and the futuristic potential of 2123 – when the Museum will mark another 110 years! The proceeds from the Festival of Trees benefit the education programs that provide more than 17,000 educational experiences every year. Festival of Trees 2013: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow is proudly sponsored by Hill Engineers, Architects, Planners Inc.; Pittsfield Cooperative Bank; Berkshire Magazine; and RBC Wealth Management

While visiting the Festival of Trees, be prepared to encounter small groups of performers breaking into song. At any time in any gallery you may enjoy a brief, delightful holiday concert featuring string quartets, carolers, or a mixture of both. When and where this will happen is a surprise!
