Job description

The Social Media & Photography Intern is responsible for creating daily, engaging content for social media and ensuring the Museum’s catalog of photos stays up to date. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director. The Social Media and Photography Intern will ensure proper representation of the Museum’s mission and brand through social media channels.

Essential Responsibilities:

Photography

Photograph regular weekly and special Museum events – special events outside of Museum hours (Monday – Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM, Sunday: 12 PM – 5 PM) will be communicated well in advance of the date
Able to organize and maintain a library of photos
Outgoing – must be able to “cold-approach” Museum visitors and request to take their photo

Social Media
Maintain social media platforms with current events as well as updated photography and ensure responses to questions and comments

Remain up to date with social media trends

Qualifications:

Graphic design experience/familiarity with Canva a plus but not a requirement
Knowledge of social media platforms
Basic knowledge or willingness to learn use of DSLR mirrorless digital camera

Hours:

Flexible: 8 – 12 hours weekly. Weekends are occasionally required.

Compensation:
$20/hr
