Public Health at Berkshire Museum

In an effort to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus within our community, Berkshire Museum has made the difficult decision to close its doors through Sunday, May 3, 2020. All events and programming will be suspended during this time. We will continue to monitor conditions in the region during this period and will determine whether an earlier or later re-opening is appropriate.

The temporary closure is based on our assessment of new state guidance issued to schools, the closure of cultural organizations nationally and in the region, and our aim to help limit the spread of the virus within our community.

During this time, our staff will continue to work for you: preparing for upcoming exhibitions, creating web-based Museum experiences you can enjoy from home, and providing expert care for the animals in our Aquarium. Online experiences will be shared here on our website as well as on our Facebook page and through our email list.

We will continue to share updates throughout our closure and are here, as always, to answer your questions. We look forward to welcoming you back through our doors soon!

You can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by taking the same measures you would to prevent the spread of the common cold, flu, or other respiratory illnesses:

  1. Wash your hands frequently.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  3. Cough and sneeze into your shoulder, upper sleeve, or elbow and not into the room or your hands.
  4. If you or a member of your family are sick, stay home until you and they have been well for 24 hours.

Thank you for doing your part to protect all members of our community.
