Ten Days of Play 2019
Kids will play, create, improvise, and learn when Ten Days of Play returns for its seventh year. This innovative opportunity for child-directed play is available daily from 11 am to 3 pm and Sunday noon to 3 pm.
The Ten Days of Play festival will take place throughout the Museum. The Crane Room will be filled with an exciting assortment of modular building toys: kids will enjoy a generous LEGO® station, explore color and gravity at the Tegu magnetic block station, stack structures with Bilderhoos, and innovate with the big blue blocks of the Imagination Playground. Ten Days of Play will also feature interactive activities for early learners, daily aquarium programs, and the popular Tinker Lab.
Included with regular Museum admission.
10 Days of Play is part of Pittsfield’s annual 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival.
Bilderhoos Architectural Play Sets make every child a super builder — no tools are required, just imagination and energy! The boards slot together easily to make many different configurations, then come apart just as easily. Bilderhoos boards fit together using precision-cut slots to make structures consisting of walls, floors, platforms, and roofs. The boards are 1″ thick and sturdy enough for big kids, even adults, to stand on as a floor or platform. Bilderhoos lets your child build a playhouse, a store, a sled, a ranch, a tower — the possibilities are endless. Designed by a graphic artist and a science professor, Bilderhoos is designed to give your child the kind of flexible play that builds creativity, independence, and engineering skills. A simple concept and an elegant design combine to make Tegu magnetic wooden blocks exciting toys for children at a range of ages. Building on the go is simple with magnetic blocks, and they are safe, colorful, and easy for little ones to handle. From increasing fine motor skills and balance to problem solving and storytelling, playing with Tegu blocks helps children learn in exciting ways. The magnets add tremendous play value, giving children the ability to build beyond the usual constraints of gravity. Working with the polarity of the magnets adds an additional challenge.
