BeMuse: The Intersection Between Art and Science

Conversation with contemporary artist Paul Villinski, scientist Dr. Rudi Mattoni, and Sally Morgan Lehman, owner and director of Morgan Lehman Gallery

Paul Villinski (whose work is included in the current exhibition Butterflies), renowned lepidopterist (butterfly and moth specialist) Rudi Mattoni, PhD, and New York gallery owner and arts professional Sally Morgan Lehman explores environmental issues, species extinction and human intervention; the interface between science and art; and the role of fine art in affecting societal change. The program also includes a brief slide show of Villinski’s recent work and discussion of a new collaboration with Dr. Mattoni: a sculpture project which employs live butterflies.

CSI: Ancient Crimes

Take part in the ultimate game of Clue! The camp counselors play the roles of both CSI lead investigators and criminals as the campers solve new crimes each day using their detective skills. We will lift finger prints, make shoe imprints, and learn how to tell if someone is trying to deflect the truth.

Grades 2-5

Perform exciting—and fun—science experiments! All experiments are kid-safe and can be recreated using items found in almost any kitchen. Each session will feature different experiments. Adult must accompany child.
