If you walked through Berkshire Museum this past Saturday and smelled the bright aroma of cinnamon, chances are you walked right past Art Lab as we were making our No-Bake Cinnamon Ornaments.

Finished Cinnamon Ornaments

As with all of our Art Lab projects, you can easily repeat this project at home!

Ingredients & Materials:

  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup salt
  • ½ cup cinnamon
  • ¾ cup very warm water
  • Assorted cookie cutters
  • 1 straw
  • String, ribbon, or yarn

Step 1: Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

Step 2: Add water gradually, mixing each time until you reach a dough-like consistency.

Step 3: With a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a flat, floured surface and use cookie cutters to create festive shapes.

Step 4: Use a straw to punch a hole in the top of each ornament.

Step 5: Allow 24 hours to dry… try to be patient!

Step 6: Thread the string or yarn through the hole in each ornament and tie into a loop. You’re ready to deck the halls with these aromatic decorations!
