Berkshire Museum holds Holiday Cookie Contest
As part of Festival of Trees Family Day and author Gina Hyams’ release of Christmas Cookie Contest in a Box
[Pittsfield, Mass.] – ’Tis the season for bakers – so get your oven mitts on, baking sheets prepped, and cookie cutters out of storage, and visit Berkshire Museum on Saturday, December 8 for a festive cookie bake-off, as part of the release of author Gina Hyams’ book & kit, Christmas Cookie Contest in a Box: Everything You Need to Host a Christmas Cookie Contest.
As part of the Festival of Trees Family Day, Hyams will hold the cookie contest, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Participating contestants will bake four dozen of their favorite holiday cookies to enter and Museum visitors will vote for their favorite cookie. Three People’s Choice Awards will be given; winners will receive a free family membership to the Museum plus a signed copy of Christmas Cookie Contest in a Box (Andrews McMeel Publishing). The event is free with Museum admission. To participate in the cookie contest, contact Craig Langlois at firstname.lastname@example.org or 413.443.7171 ext. 13 with your contact information and what kind of cookie you will be making.
Christmas Cookie Contest in a Box enables aspiring bakers, die-hard cookie lovers, and anyone who adores holiday festivities to have an innovative experience. Whether it’s for the office Christmas party, a holiday gathering, or a way to join the in-laws, a fun and competitive time is guaranteed with the kit, which provides all the essentials for a cookie contest: a handbook, 5 judge badges, prize ribbons (1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and People’s Choice), 12 table tents, and scorecards. These items allow you to take the classic Christmas cookie exchange to a whole new level of friendly competition. The book also includes an assortment of recipes and tips from passionate bakers, including magazine contributors from Bon Appetit, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and Cakespy.com.
