PaperWorks: The Art and Science of an Extraordinary Material

PaperWorks Programs

03Origami Plus: Saturdays, September 7, 21, and October 5, 19, 2 p.m.
Each week there is a new origami project that is taught step-by-step and with written instructions. The projects vary in difficulty each week allowing accessibility for beginners, as well as those who have had more practice. Previous weeks’ projects are practiced, as well any found in the books provided or known by those visiting. Some of our simpler origami projects include a frog, turtle, and a whale. Besides origami there are supplies provided for paper quilling along with a new example of quilling each week.

02Paper Plane Challenge: Saturdays, September 14, 28, and October 12, 26, 2 p.m.
Each week there is a new design and challenge that goes along with the different type of plane. We talk about the forces of flight before making the plane step-by-step. Examples of the planes we will be making include a ring plane, a helicopter, and a plane designed for long distance.

Both programs are free with Museum admission – so stop by, see our PaperWorks show, and get creative!

We love how the Museum is turning STEM into STEAM (science, technology, engineering, ART, and math)!
